Do I really need an employee handbook?
Yes — and not just to protect yourself legally. A good handbook sets expectations clearly so you're not making up the rules as you go. It's one of the best investments a small business can make.
I only have 8 employees. Is HR really necessary?
Absolutely. Employment law applies from your very first hire. The smaller you are, the more a single HR mistake can hurt. Getting the basics right early saves you from expensive problems later.
Can't I just use a template I found online?
Templates are a starting point — but they're generic. They don't know your state's laws, your industry, or how your business actually works. A real policy needs to fit your real situation.
How much does this cost?
